Islam is a Complete Truth

The religion that God has prescribed to mankind is ‘ISLAM` (submission and obedience to God). It is only this religion that can cover all the needs of man and encompasses the above purpose. Therefore, the only recognized religion in the sight of God is Islam. The essence of Islam is the very essence of humanity. Islam is a complete and comprehensive way of life leading to a balanced way of living.  Allah says:

“Men are guardians over women by what Allah has favoured some over others and by what they spend of their wealth.” (Surah Al-Nisa 4:34)

Islam establishes your duties and rights in all those relationships. Muslims believe that Islam is the ultimate and complete way of life for mankind. Islam gives a person a clear perspective on the events that happen in their life, both good and bad, as they are tests from God.  Allah says:

Say,” Travel over the land and then observe how He has originated the creation.” Then Allah shall bring about the genesis of the Hereafter. Indeed Allah has power over all things.” (Surah Al-‘Ankabut 29:20)

Modern science is wholly the gift of the Islamic revolution-directly in its initial stages, and indirectly in its later stages. The modern scientific revolution was set in motion by Islam, which was sent by the Almighty for the guidance of all mankind for all eternity.

Islam counsels us to follow a better path when people insult us by not responding to them in the same manner, but rather to respond to their evil with good. Because the religion of God (Islam) is guidance and truth, therefore it can lead man to his prosperity. So Islam teaches a balance between fear and hope, protecting one from both complacency and despair.

  • The Quran is the major holy text of Islam. Hadith is another important book
  • Muslims worship one, all-knowing God, who in Arabic is known as Allah
  • Followers of Islam aim to live a life of complete submission to Allah
  • The word “Islam” means “submission to the will of God.”
  • Followers of Islam are called Muslims
  • Mosques are places where Muslims worship
  • Followers worship Allah by praying and reciting the Quran
  • They believe there will be a day of judgment and life after death
  • They believe that nothing can happen without Allah’s permission, but humans have free will
  • Islam teaches that Allah’s word was revealed to the prophet Muhammad through the angel Gabriel

Islam grants women many rights in the home and society. Among them are the right to earn money, to financial support, to own property, to education, to an inheritance, to being treated kindly, to vote, to a bridal gift, to keep their maiden name, to worship in a mosque, to a divorce, and so on.  Allah says:

وَقُلِ الْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكُمْ فَمَن شَاءَ فَلْيُؤْمِن وَمَن شَاءَ فَلْيَكْفُرْ

“The truth is from your Lord. So whoever will let him believe, and whoever will let him disbelieve.” (Surah Al-Kahf 18:29)

A Muslim’s mission is to bring order and this international society established by Islam must be carried to the world and, therefore, the Islamic social order seeks universality. Islam provides a social order which cannot only tend to be universal but must become universal.

Allah Almighty says in The Holy Quran:

  • “Truly the religion with Allah is Islam.” (Quran: 3:19)
  • “It describes reconciliation as the best policy.” (Quran: 4:128)
  • “He is Who has sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth.” (Quran 48:28)
  • “Fight them, and God will chastise them at your hands and degrade them, and He will help you against them, and bring healing to the breasts of a people who believe.” (Quran  9:14)
  • “And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam will never be accepted of him and in the hereafter, he will be one of the losers.” (Quran 3:85)
  • “The servants of the All-merciful are those who walk in the earth modestly and who, when the ignorant address them, say, ‘Peace.” (Quran  25:63)

Islam encourages a balance between hope in God’s mercy and fear of His punishment – both of which are required to lead a positive and humble life. We are born sinless but have the free will to commit sins. God created us and knows we are imperfect and commit sins, but the key is how we react to committing those mistakes. Islam teaches that God is the Most Merciful and will forgive and pardon those who sincerely want to repent. Allah says:

وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِ وَنَهَى النَّفْسَ عَنِ الْهَوَىٰ فَإِنَّ الْجَنَّةَ هِيَ الْمَأْوَىٰ

“As for him who feared to stand before his Lord and he restrained himself from his desires, then Paradise will be his refuge.” (Surah An-Naziat 79:40)

The Islamic concept of God is that He is loving, merciful and compassionate. Islam also teaches that He is all-knowing and the perfect judge of affairs, and will punish (or forgive) accordingly. However, Allah once said to Muhammad, “My mercy prevails over my wrath”. So Islam teaches a balance between fear and hope, protecting one from both complacency and despair.
